🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Share Displeasure Over Sizing Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information. This online marketplace has updated its size classifications for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Response Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Changes Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Experiences Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
