According to new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” are unclear, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to the President, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche attend a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a response to the questions by 24 November.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
