It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

These statements will be the last competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.
